FAQs
Who in the Trucking Industry currently uses Gamma88?
Currently, numerous commercial companies and municipal fleets are using Gamma88 – along with independent owner/operators. Two very prominent Gamma88 clients are an international concrete/ready-mix company and a leader in waste management. We are adding customers everyday and ongoing right now are multiple Gamma88 pilot programs which cover freight companies to railroads with intermodal operations to our growing list of independent owner/operators throughout North America. For more detailed info, we can put you in contact with a Gamma88 representative.
What kind of fuel savings should I expect to see?
In most cases you should expect fuel savings of 6% or greater. In addition, most engines will experience reduction in emissions of 20-50%. Please ask our agents to discuss our call savings matrix so we can show you the tremendous savings available.
Will my warranty be voided by using Gamma88?
No. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prevents OEMs from voiding warranties from the mere use of aftermarket products.
How does Gamma88 work in my engine?
The group of low molecular weight esters cleans the dirty deposits formed by wasted fuel and the combustion process. At the same time, high molecular weight esters lubricate engine surfaces, both above and below the pistons. Gamma88 also keeps seals lubricated and pliable.
What is in Gamma88?
Gamma88 is a liquid fuel and oil reformulator consisting of a grouping of several low and high molecular weight synthetic esters. These esters are combined with a minimal amount of petroleum distillate (less than 20%) that is used to act as a carrying agent.
Does Gamma88 go into both the Diesel Fuel and Oil?
Yes, the specific instructions for both Diesel Fuel and Oil is provided on the back label of the product. In Fuel: Add 5 oz per 10 Gallons in the first tankful and 1 oz per 10 Gallons thereafter. In Oil: Introduce and maintain 1 oz. per quart of oil in the crankcase at all times.
How will Gamma88 affect my Oil Change Interval?
If your vehicle / engine is currently under warranty, continue to change your oil per the manufacturer’s recommendations. In current commercial fleet use we have seen oil samples that continue to pass oil analysis testing significantly longer than the manufacturers recommended change interval. This is due to Gamma88’s effect on the oil and reduction of blow-by. Gamma88 recommends analyzing your oil after 3 months use to determine the best course of action for you.
What is the Gamma88 Implementation Rate?
Gamma88 is designed to be used in gasoline, diesel AND motor oils. At the normal application rate, 1 gallon of Gamma88 treats 1280 gallons of diesel or gasoline fuel. For the first complete tankful we recommend a 5oz per 10 gallon ratio to expedite the chemisorption and cleaning process (which is a 5 times normal rate). After the first tankful, the normal application ratio for gasoline and diesel is 1oz of Gamma88 per 10 gallons of fuel (which is the normal continuous rate). The application rate in oil is 1oz of Gamma88 per 1 quart of oil at all times, and should be re-introduced at that rate with each oil change.
Why is Gamma88 different from any other Diesel Fuel Additives?
Other fuel additives on the market can also clean your engine, but they are primarily petroleum based solvents. Gamma88’s unique blend of synthetic esters replenishes the lubricity robbed from today’s Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel while stabilizing the fuel. This means less wasted fuel being expelled and reduced “brake specific fuel consumption”. In other words, less fuel consumed and more power generated with significant reduction in emissions.
How does Gamma88 compare to other "like" products?
There is no product like Gamma88. It's special formula and ester-based blend is unlike anything on the market today. Additionally, the majority of all other fuel and oil products are 100% petroleum based - which Gamma88 is not. Please refer to our testing results on the testing tab and you'll see tremendous fuel savings and emissions reductions.
How does this affect operations in cold climates? Does this help with freezing?
"Winter" or Number 1 diesel is generally drier than "Summer" (Number 2) diesel. If you typically use winter diesel or a blend when the weather gets cold, Gamma88 will continue to enhance your fuel's performance. Due to the ester-based makeup, Gamma88 provides added lubricity to your fuel when used for colder climates. Additionally, in ASTM testing by InterTek Labs, adding Gamma88 to your fuel at the recommended rate lowered the "pour point" of diesel by 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit to -43.6 degrees.
How will my engine benefit from using Gamma88?
There are three main effects to your engine: Enhanced Engine Cleaning Greater Lubricity (less friction) among engine components Increased fuel combustibility Additionally, by helping keep seals clean and pliable, Gamma88 reduces “blow-by” and keeps your oil cleaner, longer.
What are the benefits of a cleaner engine?
The outcome of a cleaner and more lubricated engine is a longer engine life requiring less maintenance. Equally important, Gamma88 reduces incomplete fuel combustion, which wastes fuel and produce toxic emissions. In turn, the levels of carbon deposits are decreased. Gamma88’s unique formula of esters stabilizes all fuels while maintaining the fuel’s specifications.
What environmental concerns are there with fuel emissions?
The most harmful emissions of combustion engines are: • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) – believed to be the No. 1 cause of global warming. Every gallon of combusted diesel fuel produces 22.2 pounds of CO2 (Source: U.S. EPA). • Carbon Monoxide (CO) – a poisonous gas that is colorless and odorless. • Hydrocarbons or Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) – a major component of smog produced mostly from gases in the vapors of gasoline. • Nitrogen Oxides (NO and NO2 , together called NOx) – are a contributor to smog and acid rain, which also causes irritation to human mucus membranes. • Sulfur Dioxides (SO2 ) – a colorless gas that is one of the main ingredients in acid rain. Creates ground-level ozone (the main ingredient in smog) when combined with sunlight and VOCs. • Particulate Matter (PM) – second (behind CO2) in causing global warming. Diesel PM is mainly composed of soot or carbon particles, ash, and volatile compounds from unburned and partially burned fuel. PM is measured in different sizes from 3 to larger than 10,000 nanometers or smaller than the diameter of human hair.
Can Gamma88 be purchased in larger containers?
Yes. Gamma88 can be purchased in 55-gallon drums for larger applications and commercial fleets.
Is Gamma88 available now or will it be available in the future in truck stops?
Gamma88 is quickly becoming a leader in the industry. Because of this we are currently exploring options for sales at certain major truck stops, although providing Gamma88 directly to consumers saves you money.
